Technical SEO Services

Nobody notices good stitching. Everyone notices when it comes apart.

Google can't rank a page it can't find, can't load or can't make sense of. Technical SEO is the unglamorous work that makes sure it can.

It's rarely one big problem. It's twenty small ones: a redirect pointing to another redirect, a page accidentally hidden from search, an image twice the size it needs to be, two pages competing for the same search. Together they can cost you page one.

Isometric illustration of a website's gears, a speed gauge in the green and a broken link being stitched together, for technical SEO by Tailor SEO

A real example: our own website

When we ran tailorseo.com through Google's PageSpeed test for mobile, the main content took over 18 seconds to appear. The cause wasn't the hosting or the images. It was a design setting: an entrance animation that made headings “float in” as the page loaded, and Google waits for that animation before it counts the content as visible.

We removed the animations from the headings and hero images on every page. The mobile PageSpeed score went from 49 to 80, and the main content now appears in under 4 seconds. Same design, same content, one setting. That's what technical SEO usually looks like: not a rebuild, but finding the one thing that matters.

Signs you have a technical problem

  • Pages not indexed

Search Console lists pages as “Crawled – currently not indexed” or “Discovered – currently not indexed”.

  • Rankings fell after a redesign

Old addresses, missing redirects or a forgotten setting can undo years of work overnight.

  • Slow on a phone

Even on good Wi-Fi. Speed affects rankings, and it affects whether people wait.

  • Links landing on errors

Other websites still link to pages that no longer exist, and that value is lost.

  • Pages competing with each other

Two of your own pages show up for the same search, and neither ranks well.

  • AI gets your details wrong

ChatGPT or Google's AI answers describe your business, prices or location incorrectly.

What we check

Crawling and indexing, redirects and redirect chains, broken links, Core Web Vitals and mobile speed, duplicate pages and canonical tags, XML sitemaps and robots.txt, structured data, internal linking, image weight, and how easily AI crawlers can read your key pages.

How we work

  1. Audit

You get a list of issues ranked by how much they're likely to cost you, with evidence for each one so you can check it yourself.

  2. Fix

We make the changes, brief your developer, or both.

  3. Confirm

Once the changes are live, we check them in Google Search Console rather than assuming they worked.

FAQs

Do you need access to my website?

Not for the free audit. To make fixes, yes, or we can write clear instructions for your developer.

Is technical SEO a one-off job?

The big fixes usually are. But websites change: new pages, new apps, new plugins. A periodic check stops small problems piling up again.

How much does technical SEO cost?

It depends on the size of your site and what we find. Every project is quoted individually.
